Wood has been successfully used as a building material for centuries. It is durable, has unique aesthetic properties and is possibly one of the most environmentally friendly materials available. | Is my project suitable for wood flooring |
Wood can be and has been used in a wide variety of instalations, and has stood the test of time as an effective floor finish. Wood should not be exoposed to excessive amounts of water, and as long as the substrate has a moisture content of less than 10% and humidity levels are below 55% a wood floor can be very successfully employed.. | The boards I received are different to the sample you sent me |
Wood is a natural product and shade variation is an inherant characteristic of any wood boards. Any samples sent will be representative of the colour, but they will not be exactly the same as every board. It is the responsibilty of the fitter to achieve an acceptable blend when fitting the floor and discard any boards that are unacceptable, that is why we are allowed a 5% tollerance in each consignment to allow for any discarded boards. | Where does the wood come from |
The Solid Wood Flooring Company are members of the Timber Trade Federation and are registered under the Forst Stewardship Council A.C. (registration code SA-COC-001654-HA) and source raw materials from managed and sustainable sources. White Oak, Maple and Walnut are sourced from North America. Bamboo from China and a small amount of White Oak is also taken from traceable sources in Russia. Read more in our TechCentre |
