We are now able to glue our engineered wood flooring direct to the aluminium spreader plates found in certain underfloor heating systems. These systems normally have a polystyrene base with an aluminium plate inserted in before the poly plastic pipe is laid out. You must ensure that the spreader plates is clean and dry and free of any adhesive or dust. You can then use the Bona R850 adhesive the glue the boards directly to the spreader plates.
This can only be done with structural engineered hardwood flooring such as the 20mm thick engineered wood floors we supply. The picture below shows the system with and without a board. These two picture can be expanded to a much large image.
You must ensure that you follow our guidelines in the underfloor heating section and that the surface temperature of the aluminium spreader plate and pipe does not exceed 27 degrees. By using this latest method you will need less heat in the pipes as it will transfer direct to the engineered floor. The Bona R850 was initially designed to glue car windscreen to the metal body.
