Client Portfolio: Making a mat well out of Hardwood Wood Flooring in an Entrance Hall

There are several ways to make a mat well and this shows one, if you use our professional fitters then they can do whatever you want. You can use some of the floor boards cut up or our end mouldings, the choice is yours and it will depend on your personal taste. 
 
Thick mats will need an end moulding and as it will increase the depth of the mat well and in many cases it can be built into the door threshold.
The mat well made here used the actual flooring which our fitters cut to size. This means there is no ridge like there would be with an end moulding. End mouldings are used if you want a thicker mat or to make it more of a feature.
