General Underlays: We only recommend the best underlays that are value for money where we can guarantee a trouble free installation and longevity.It is pointless buying cheap underlay with a top quality floor. Normally if it is a concrete screed you would not use underlay as you would glue it down using the Bona Products. You should only need an underlay for sound proofing or as a barrier against vapour or if you have to lay a floating floor. You should not expect any underlay to act as a Damp Proof Membrane (DPM). If you need a DPM then you should use the Bona products which you can see in the adhesive and sealant sections.
 
  
Underfloor Heating Underlays: These should be chosen with care to ensure that you do not restrict any heat. If there is a screed over the heating then glue straight down as the Bona  adhesives have been designed with underfloor heating in mind. If the system is a mat and you need an underlay then choose the best in the market details of which are below, the Duralay underfloor heating underlay is a brand new product specifically designed for the new systems available today. Heatflow Wood and Laminate Underlay
High density sponge rubber underlay for laminate and solid wood floors installed over underfloor heating (UHF). It has a low Radius of effects of ignition BS 4790/5287 and incorporates ThermylinTM for improved thermal conductivity.For use under floating laminate, solid timber and engineered wooden floors. Suitable for both domestic and contract applications. Guaranteed for the serviceable lifetime of the floor covering under which it is laid when used in the recommended locations. Roll size: 1.37 m x 11.0 m Nominal thickness 2.75mm

Timbermate Silentfloor Gold Acoustic Underlay
Acoustic Properties: Sone wood/laminate flooring test. Drum sound emission = 53 Sone when tested with Uniclic 700 laminate flooring at the WKI Fraunhofer-Institut. Typical 2.5mm PE foam = 77 Sone. This is a high density resilient sponge rubber underlay for laminate and solid timber floors It is suitable for both domestic and contract applications. For use under floating laminate, solid timber and engineered wooden floors. It has excellent moisture resistance when used in conjunction with Vapourtape or Vapourstop sealing strip which can be seen below. Not suitable for installation over wood-block or parquet subfloors. Timbermate Excel
This is a high density resilient sponge rubber underlay for laminate and solid timber floors. The colour and appearance is a green sponge rubber sheet with a silver Vapourstop membrane
and is suitable for both domestic and contract applications. For use under floating laminate, solid timber and engineered wooden floors. It has excellent moisture resistance when used in conjunction with Vapourtape or Vapourstop sealing strip, This is not suitable for installation over wood-block or parquet subfloors and is guaranteed for the serviceable lifetime of the floor covering under which it is laid when used in the recommended locations

Underlays compared to Adhesives
We always recommend that where possible you should always glue a floor to any concrete screed especially if you have UFH. The reason is that you can get a "spongy" feeling when floating floors on an underlay especially if you use cheap wood flooring. For example our Oak Floor, solid and engineered is the best quality you can buy which means there is less likelihood of this happening. Underlays do not stop moisture they only prevent some vapour which is different to moisture. 
Vapourstop sealing strip
This is for use with Interfloor wood/laminate underlays to prevent any moisture getting through the join in the roll and having an effect on wood flooring. Size: Roll measuring 250mm wide by 50m long Construction: 12 micron polyester barrier, metallised on one side.
