What are ‘Random Lengths’ and ‘Fixed Lengths’
Random Lengths:
            These are standard lengths selected by the Solid Wood Flooring Company.
            They are lengths calculated to allow the best aesthetic variation in the finished floor.
            The minimum length is 400mm and the maximum 1800mm.Overall average length is 900mm.
Fixed Lengths:
             These are lengths stipulated for a particular product with one board in each carton split,
             with one half a minimum of 600mm long. This is designed to assists fitting and minimise the
             need to sacrifice a long board when cutting in.

Volatile Chemicals in wood flooring and what are they
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemical  compounds that have high enough vapor pressures under normal conditions to significantly vaporize and enter the earth's atmosphere. Volatile organic compounds are numerous and varied. Although ubiquitous in nature and modern industrial society, they may also be harmful or toxic. VOCs, or subsets of the VOCs, are often regulated.
 
We do not use any VOCs in any of our products as we are very environmentally aware and are FSC registered as well as following the responsible purchasing and manufacturing set out in the Timber Trade Federation's regulations.
