Covid 19 Update Read More

We are open for business as usual (although there here is nothing usual about this situation) with our transport company (Brooks Transport) who are designated by the government as critical to the covid response. We are still delivering direct to door or site, (however collections or visits to the warehouse are not possible.) Our IT systems allow us to work from home so our staff are protected. Please Call or Email Us for samples or orders. Our factories are back to full capacity and the supply chain is operating effectively which can be seen here. As a trade supplier we have a minimum requirement of 50m2 for any samples and supplies. Please call 01666 504015 if you require less. For Government advice please click here. Even with these steps we have made, we must pull together, support one another, and get through this as a group, a family, and feel proud to say to our wider community we are critical to the Covid-19 response, and we will support it for as long as we are able. Stay safe, stay well, look after yourself, and each other.

When is the time to refurbish your business?

Posted in By Solidwood Company

We understand that as a business owner, you will more than likely be kept busy on the day to day running of operations or be engrossed in future plans and strategies. This can make it difficult to find the time to take a step back and look at the current workspace and review honestly.

Also, we appreciate that even if you wanted to completely refurbish your business tomorrow, that there is the small issue of finding the right time to shut down that will not affect the business too much operationally. And that before you consider the cost involved.

So here at The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we wanted to put your mind at rest and detail an example of a business who underwent refurbishment within the hospitality industry and managed to come out the other side thriving.

Back in 2011 we started working with the founders of Le Bistrot Pierre. We have supplied our engineered wood flooring to a large number of their sites over our many years of working together, with the latest being the newly opened restaurant in Eastbourne which boasts stunning views.

Le Bistro Pierre once revealed they chose us because of our quality engineered floors, sustainability and price. Added to this, the swift completion of the work meant minimum disruption to the business.

You can find out more about our work with Le Bistrot Pierre by visiting the full case study we completed on the project, and you can even see the products we used.

However to summarise some top tips when considering refurbishing your business, no matter what industry you are in:

  • Timing
Is your business a seasonal business? It would make sense to ensure the refurbishment is complete when you traditionally may be a little quieter to ensure minimum disruption
  • Budget
Have you considered the cost of the project and how much money realistically needs to be spent on an update?
  • Scale of work
What exactly needs to be updated? Is a complete overhaul required or is it a simple freshen up?
  • Sustainability
Have you considered the impact on the environment by choosing supplier to ethically source their products?

Once you have the answers to these questions, then you have the perfect starting point for starting the process of a business refurbishment.

Start your research by calling us so we can help create and develop your brand by using our designer flooring at some of the most competitive prices in the market. We are the wood flooring supplier you can rely on to deliver your project on time, on budget backed up with our environmental credentials.
