Brentford Waterside Development with Ballymore | Case Study
Brentford Waterside Development with Ballymore
Working with Johnson Naylor we developed a band sawn finished Oak plank to fit with the waterside development location and interior décor. The product finished with a special bare timber finish so it looks unfinished. The UV cured oils we use create a commercial finish that is very hardwearing and stain resistant. The image below shows the initial work on the marketing suite.
The modern day band sawn finishes are created in special ways. This type of surface was found in olden days when planning machines did not exist.
Planks were hand sawn with large cross saws which were operated by two people normally to saw a large tree into planks. The band sawn finish adds character and interest in the floor. The bare timber finish keeps it light and very natural looking.
The band sawn random length boards add a certain ambience to the rooms and the finished apartments will be perfect for families with young children and dogs.
Band sawn finished timber is much harder as the softer grain and surface is reduced and it is perfect for residential or commercial use. We have fitted this finish in offices as well as tower blocks and individual homes.
The finish even stands up to all the different trades that operate in large developments and will look as good in a few years’ time as it did when first installed.
You can see the detail of the band sawn finish here at the top of the stairs.
