Where our European Oak flooring is produced
We have established a partnership with a family run manufacturing facility in Northern Europe, where we have the flexibility to produce bespoke wood floor products both in engineered wood floors and also solid Oak floors.
The wood used for this wooden flooring is very high grade, having been sourced from northern Europe and we have a different grading system which can be seen in our Premium European Oak section.
We have the facility to cut our own veneers at the factory and normally produce 4mm and 6mm solid oak top layers to increase the sustaiability of the Oak. The back layer is 100% high quality Birch Plywood made in Germany which is near the border.
Quality control and finishes are of the highest quality and we prefer to produce oiled finishes due to sustainablity and durability.
From the pictures of the Profiling and Press machines, you can see we use the latest, state-of-the-art technology
The cutting and inspection area is the first step in quality control of the floors before they go to the next stage of production
We use natural drying oils which are the best as it allows the oils to penetrate the grain of the wood better and the racks can be seen in the picture below (natural drying Racks)
The finishing and packing area allows us to double check the quality of each board and the finish
We hope you find this information useful and we have ensured that this facility is now fully certified and has its own chain of custody with 100% FSC certification.
