Cladding Stairs with Fumed Oak & Metal Inserts

Project: Cladding Stairs with Fumed Oak & Metal Inserts

In this commercial project we needed to address a Health and Safety requirement for the visually inpaired. Health and Safety guidelines dictate that there must be a contrast between the step nosing and the surrounding riser and tread of the steps.

It can be difficult to meet this requirement and maintain an asthetically pleasing design.  So we came up with inserting metal on the nosings and having the treads and risers made from our E151 Double brushed fumed oak flooring.
