The latest trend in wood flooring is “GREY” moving away from the white coloured wood floors to the driftwoods and charcoal greys. Grey coloured Oak floors look more natural like oak that has aged over the years creating a unique warm patina.
We can supply any quantity of our floor ranges, if we don’t have the right wood flooring for your requirements, as a UK based manufacturer we can make bespoke wood flooring for you, subject to minimum quantities of 500 m2.
Please browse our wood flooring ranges online and add free samples to your basket or call 01666 504015 to discuss a project and obtain floor estimating advice.
We have been extending our range of grey oak wood flooring in engineered wood floors as well as chevron and herringbone parquet.
The best greys are those where the board has been lightly fumed to change the yellow tannins to a subtler gentle colour, we can then use colour oils to create the shades we want and the best finish is an oil with a UV top coat to seal the grain and maintain the integrity of the colour. The TW E924 could be described as grey because in certain light conditions it does look grey. This is because it has been fumed. You can see how grey it looks in the second image.
We use heated sealed containers to fume our fumed oak wood flooring. Solid Oak is impossible to fume over short period so we fume our oak veneers all the way through. Fuming can take between 7 hours to 7 days depending on how dark the end wood floor needs to be.
If you find old oak that has been in the sea or battered by harsh weather it will have a grey patina that is perfect for modern décor. Grey wood flooring will match any other colours you have as it is very neutral.
There are many new grey floors in production such as Basalt Grey Flooring, Truffle Grey, Anthracite and Cobble Grey like our mansion weave parquet floor.
In fact, there are more than 50 shades of grey from the very dark like our Anthracite dark grey to very light grey tones where we use white oil that interacts with the oak flooring tannins to create varying tones.
We are happy to do samples of the colours you want on the grey board you choose, just call 01666 504015 to talk to one of our team of experts.
