From Master Shipbuilders to expert Woodworkers, the Vikings excelled at making quality wooden products. That’s why installing a premium wooden floor accompanied with a ‘wooden river’ was the ideal solution for Jorvik Viking Museum, York.

RMA tasked The Solid Wood Company to supply and install a Wood floor in the newly refurbished Viking Museum situated in the middle of York. The boards used in this case was our E157 select grade 260mm wide engineered unfinished oak see here

We were able to create a river feature using a router and stainless-steel insert with a selection of different colour oils. The river takes tourists on a journey of exploration, from exhibit to exhibit, showing visitors each different section of the Viking’s history in the UK.

We were extremely proud to be chosen for this exciting project and our experienced flooring fitters completed the job in less than a week.
