Sustainability is in our DNA. Our mission of sustaining our planet home’s future forms part of the principles we operate on. Whilst we continue to forge ahead and find innovative ways to move forward the flooring industry, we also look for new ways to strengthen our commitment to creating sustainable practices.

PLANTING OVER 50 TREES WITH MINCHINHAMPTON GOLF CLUB

In our continued efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and supply sustainable wood flooring, we teamed up with Minchinhampton Golf Club.

As part of this, we funded the planting of over 50 mixed oak and beech trees. The project required larger more mature trees, in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Cotswolds.

We happily partner with ventures that encourage the protection and impact we make to the environment by planting trees and giving back what we take.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING STARTS WITH SUSTAINABLE FLOORING

By choosing to repurpose a building rather than demolishing it, you’re not only offering a solution to the climate change crisis but creating sustainable living environments.

Aiming to reduce personal and societal environmental impact, sustainable living promotes positive changes to counteract clime change. Sustainable living encourages us to minimise our use of the Earth’s resources, and reduce the damage of human and environmental interactions.

Whilst there is no perfect picture of sustainable living or a blueprint for achieving zero net living, there are steps we can all take. For us, sustainable living starts with sustainable design, which will always need sustainable flooring. If you’ve got a project coming up, help our commitment to sustaining our planet’s future by choosing a sustainable design.

You can learn more about our promise to develop sustainable flooring for sustainable living here.

At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, sustainability is in our DNA. We’re committed to helping deliver long-lasting high-quality design with low environmental impact.

Working closely with architects and interior designers, we use and repurpose all of the timber wood we buy. This allows us to make unique designs without compromising our commitment to bettering our planet. Using rustic grade materials, we create engineered boards via scouring and brushing to offer a reflective surface.

We ensure our materials come from certified, sustainable and well-managed forests by working with the FSC®️ and PEFC™️. In addition, as part of our collaboration with Gone West, we plant three new trees for every one we cut down. All in all, we’re creating sustainable materials for sustainable design.

THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS

The construction industry has an extremely high carbon emissions rating, accounting for 45% of the UK’s total carbon emissions. This is due to the industry consuming much of the world’s cement, alongside 25% of all plastics, 26% of aluminium, and 50% of steel production.

One of the main reasons for this is the extremely ineffective economical model of demolishing buildings. At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we support the RetroFirst campaign by promoting retrofitting as a sustainable alternative.

If you’ve got a project coming up, help our commitment to sustaining our planet’s future by choosing a sustainable design. To help inspire you, discover how we’ve worked with architects, developers, and interior designers on large-scale residential properties to create sustainable living.

FITZHARDINGE HOUSE

Sustainable living requires collaborative working. It’s something we thrive on. We teamed up with Base InteriorMandarin Stone, and Crosswater on a refurbishment in the affluent district of Kensington in Central London.

Inspired by Scandi design, Fitzhardinge House offers crisp, clean, and modern aesthetics. To achieve this, we used our Light Brushed Fumed Raw Timber UV Cured Finish Flooring. By creating a bright and spacious area, we help this brand of sustainable living stand the test of time from all perspectives.

Beautiful tiles were supplied by Mandarin Stone, and Cross Water supplied the taps, demonstrating how collaborative, sustainable design can be achieved without compromise.

PRINCE OF WALES DRIVE

Set within 2.5 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, Prince Of Wales Drive is a collection of 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom apartments moments away from Battersea Park. Offering state-of-the-art residential facilities, including a 17m pool, sauna, steam room, cinema, and games area; its interior design needed to be distinctive and luxurious.

As part of Phase 1, we supplied our Herringbone Parquet Engineered Brushed White Oiled Oak Flooring, offering a stunning finish. Adding to the project’s sustainability, the fully bonded flooring is highly durable and designed for high-traffic environments.

By choosing engineered flooring, the Prince Of Wales Drive project promotes sustainable living. It’s an environmentally friendly alternative, using far less of the tree per plank than solid hardwood does. Better yet, it uses 75% fewer slow-grow hardwoods like Oak by using faster-growing ones like Birch and Poplar.

In line with reducing carbon emissions and tackling climate change, the engineered wood flooring used here creates little to no pollutants during its production.

LONDON DOCK

London Dock by St George is nestled near some of London’s key landmarks, from The Tower of London to Tower Bridge. With zone 1 transport links nearby, 7.5 acres of landscaped open space, and luxury spa and gym facilities, sustainable living that looks as good as it is environmentally friendly is important.

Working with Berkeley Homes, we created the floor specifically for the interior designers, meeting their detailed specifications. Using our Cobble Grey Oak Herringbone Parquet Flooring in high-traffic areas like the kitchen, we offer a durable living environment ensuring. This means there’s less chance of replacing it further down the line, reinforcing sustainable living and design.

SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN DONE DIFFERENTLY

Our roots are in refurbishing Grade I and II listed properties. Inspired by a lack of homegrown products and the quality of cheap imports, we spent several years researching and developing high-quality engineered flooring that interior designers can pick up and play with.

Since day one, we work closely with architects, contractors, fitters and interior designers to manufacture flooring that brings the artistic vision to life. By investing in innovation, we afford architects and designers new levels of imagination.

All of our engineered boards can be used for cladding walls or bar fronts to create atmosphere and transform spaces. By offering multi-purpose boards, interior designers can create cohesion and consistency by matching up the flooring with the walls and bar fronts.

By offering multi-purpose engineered flooring, we continue our commitment to providing environmentally friendly alternatives suitable for sustainable living and design.

If you’re working on a residential or commercial project, and want to commit to sustainable living, get in touch with us today.

Since our humble beginnings, we’ve built up over 40 years of experience and knowledge within the construction and refurbishment industry.

We take great pride in working with the UK’s most prestigious and established builders and property developers. Through these partnerships, we’ve played our part in bringing restaurant chains, hotels, museums, and commercial outlets to life.

One thing we’ve learnt is that architectural and design projects have specific, demanding requirements to create a space’s unique atmosphere. That’s why a large proportion of our wood floors have been designed and manufactured to exacting specifications created by architects and interior designers.

We don’t just talk the talk; we walk the walk too. Here are6reasons why The Solid Wood Flooring Company is an ideal match for Architects and Designers.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING & DESIGN

The construction, operation, and maintenance of built environments accounts for 45% of the UK’s total carbon emissions. It’s down to ineffective and wasteful demolishment models.

If you’re an architect or designer looking to develop environmentally friendly properties and promote sustainable living, we promote retrofitting.

Rather than knocking down buildings and starting from scratch, choose to repurpose them instead. Doing this improves energy efficiency, decreases energy demand, and is cost-effective.

Better yet, we’re experts at providing flooring for retrofitted properties and projects. Floors for residential spaces like homes and hotels require a high level of resistance against mould, dents, water, and fire. This is where some of our flooring holds its own, boasting fire and water resistant and dent and mould proof features.

SUSTAINABILITY & ETHICS

We know ethical and sustainable architecture and design is critical to our planet’s future. That’s why we unreservedly condemn illegal logging and will not manufacture some exotic species as we believe a lot come from questionable sources.

That’s why we only source from well-managed, legal sustainable forests. It’s also why we manufacture our own wood flooring because we can control the sources of our raw materials unlike our competitors who buy from traders.

To ensure our materials come from certified, sustainable, and well-managed forests, we work closely with the Forest Stewardship Commission (FSC®️) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™️).

Our FSC chain of custody certification means our materials have been identified and separated from ineligible and unacceptable ones as it makes its way along the supply chain from the forest to your project.

This means all our flooring can be traced back to the forest where it was harvested, ensuring its responsibly managed.

WE OFFER UNBIASED ADVICE

Thanks to years of experience working with architects and designers, we offer extensive and unbiased advice on large and small specialist projects. We know how important it is to ensure a successful installation of our wood flooring, which is why we’re always on hand to guide the process.

WE CREATE BESPOKE FLOORING AND UNIQUE DESIGNS

When it comes to architecture and design, no two projects are the same. It’s the same for flooring – there’s no one size fits all solution.

No matter the size of the space, we can manufacture bespoke floors to fit your project’s needs. And if you’ve got a specific brief to match, we can provide unfinished engineered flooring to create your own colour and finish. That way, you’ll have a completely unique atmosphere and design to play with.

LISTED BUILDINGS & PERIOD PROPERTIES

Our founder started out refurbishing Grade I and II listed properties, so we know they need a little TLC. And if you’re working on a listed property, we’ve got the expertise to help.

Whether the original wood flooring has become rotten, or a major refurbishment requires some delicate repairs and replacements, we’ve got the flooring to fit.

Our antique oak wood flooring is approved by the listed planning office, and because its appearance comes so close to that of real, heritage wood, it’s ideal for listed buildings where maintaining its original features is essential.

We know that architectural and design projects have specific, demanding requirements with short lead times. That’s why we take great pride in being able to manufacture bespoke boards for areas over 1000m2. So no matter how big or small a building, we’ve got what you need.

If you’re working on a commercial or residential project, and require bespoke flooring, please get in touch.

Our mission at The Solid Wood Flooring Company is simple. We want to make our planet more sustainable.

Since our humble beginnings, we’ve always prided ourselves on staying ahead of our competitors by embracing technological advances and adopting environmentally friendly principles.

Developing and designing sustainable spaces is critical. And wood is the only renewable choice of building material for flooring. Plastics are derived from fossil fuels, and concrete can damage our environment through the energy it takes to produce.

Wood is a renewable resource that naturally grows in abundance. And it’s the way forward. But it’s not just our bespoke wood flooring we offer for sustainability. Here’s just some of the work we’re doing as part of our green sustainability strategy.

We partner with Maersk Eco Delivery

Our forward-thinking approach means we’re always looking for ways to achieve our mission. Through this, we realised container shipping is an energy-intensive activity, as most shipping containers use unsustainable Heavy Fuel Oils (HFOs).

It’s important to explore low-carbon energy options which can integrate easily into our existing supply chains, which is why we’re proud to partner with global logistics specialists Maersk ECO Delivery.

Using only sustainable second-generation biodiesel, they offer a promising decarbonisation solution that saves an average of 2 tons of carbon emissions per container shipped.

This perfectly aligns with our commitment to sustain our planet whilst creating stunning interior spaces.

Why? Because we choose to use wood: the only renewable choice for flooring as its production uses less energy than any other material. By improving our efficiencies for our logistics, we’re choosing to further contribute to this commitment.

We collaborate with Gone West

It takes 5 times more energy to produce 1 tonne of cement, 24 times more energy for 1 tonne of steel, and 126 times for 1 tonne of aluminium. However, the production of wood flooring uses less energy in its processing methods than any other construction material.

Young trees absorb more carbon dioxide than mature ones. So, it makes sense to harvest older trees and plant new ones. However, with only 11.76% of our land being used as forests, it’s crucial to our country’s environmental future that we act now.

That’s why we’re proud to be a part of the Gone West global mission. Our plan is to use approximately 1,000 oak trees a year, and as part of our partnership we’ve committed to planting 4,000 oak trees every year. So, for every tree we cut down, we’ll plant three new ones.

And why is it important? Because climate change is real. We’ve underestimated our impact on the planet. In the past two centuries, we’ve cut down 50% of the world’s forest. It’s time to act.

We’re certified by the FSC and PEFC

We unreservedly condemn illegal logging and will not manufacture some exotic species as we believe a lot come from questionable sources.

This means all of our flooring can be traced back to the forest where it was harvested, ensuring its responsibly managed.

We only harvest older trees

Whenever we use a tree, we ensure nothing goes to waste. That’s why we only harvest older trees that consume less carbon and produce less oxygen. We work with forestry experts to select the trees and ensure no habitats are damaged or destroyed.

To utilise every inch of a tree, we primarily produce engineered floorboards. This means we consume around one fifth of the amount of material compared to producing solid boards. In turn, we can provide your project with additional benefits such as underfloor heating systems and flexible sizing without compromising sustainability.

When you’re planning to fit wooden flooring, it is vitally important to ensure that the environmental conditions are suitable prior, during and after the fit out.

Below is a copy of the conditions one of our clients presented to the developer of an amazing project in Brentford.  This is an excellent summary of the various factors to consider when preparing to install wood flooring.

For more detailed information on the subjects covered in this synopsis, please refer to our technical library.

Brentford Waterside by J A Stott Carpentry Ltd

The timber flooring which is bonded to the cement and sand sub floor is the main item of our package that requires specific environmental conditions that need to be monitored according to supplier instructions.

There are however some concerns. Relative humidity levels in the air and the moisture content of sub floors and surrounding walls have huge effects on wood if  levels are too high. All our suppliers flooring (Solid Wood Flooring) is made to a very high specification and the moisture content of the wood flooring is 7% with the engineered boards being balanced so that the moisture of the plywood base is exactly the same as the solid top layer of wood. Wet trades work must be complete well in advance in the areas where we store or install timber flooring materials. If moisture and RH level have been measured  and deemed as acceptable having any wet trades follow after will add moisture and the readings will become invalid. If for example the wet trades follow our installation the additional moisture could be trapped in the floor by the protection boards which means it can “sweat” and then expand after the protection is later removed, there is then a risk of  the wood shrinking which would result in gaps and even twists and cups in the wood.

There are procedures that the main contractor should have in place to ensure moisture/humidity levels are monitored, if they are within tolerances (less than 65% RH for screed and concrete subfloors and relative humidity in the air of between 35 and 55%) then all well and good but if it becomes apparent that levels are found to be too high then remedies should be allowed for by Ballymore. One example could be that if temperatures are very low, there should be scope for the introduction of ambient heating to the affected areas prior to, during and after installation to maintain an ambient temperature of at least 15C. The Relative humidity will lower with higher ambient temperatures. Please note the flooring should not be subjected to any direct heat)

The moisture content measurement of the screed should be undertaken by the contractor and presented to Ballymore before and after the UFH has been tested and commissioned. Once Ballymore are satisfied that these within tolerance and the relative humidity in the apartment is between 35 and 55% the area should be signed off for J A Stott Carpentry Ltd to commence the delivery for acclimatisation then the installation of the flooring.

Please note: The underfloor heating system needs to have been fully tested throughout its full temperature range ensuring the maximum surface temperature of the sub floor does not exceed 27 degrees Celsius, it then needs to be turned off for at least 2 full days before the bonded floor installation can commence. After the flooring has been installed there needs to be a minimum of 72 hours (including having  the floor protection removed) before the UFH is turned back on with the temperature being introduced gradually at 2 degrees Celsius per day (over 14 working days).

J A Stott Carpentry Ltd will double check moisture content of the subfloor after the area has been signed off to us and will advise if any readings do not correspond. If the RH moisture content of the sub floor is below 65% the flooring installation can commence . It is important that the apartment are still monitored by Ballymore during the construction phase to ensure that relative humidity levels stay within tolerance. If any movement or twist defects arise during the construction phase then the relative humidity and moisture content of the offending area will be remeasured and if these are above the tolerances described then J A Stott Carpentry Ltd will not be held responsible.

We are proud to be part of the “Gone West” mission of planting long term forest in England. Please be assured our prices will not increase because of this.

Our commitment is to plant 4,000 (four thousand)new Oak trees every year, and if we use approximately 1,000 Oak trees every year for our Oak Wood Flooring it means we are planting 3 new trees for every mature tree we cut down.

Once an Oak tree reaches full maturity it takes less carbon from the atmosphere so we need to plant new forests and regenerate our old ones.

Many lessons have been taught to us throughout the trying year of 2020, and The Solid Wood Flooring Team are even more dedicated than before, to continue our commitment of sustaining our planet home, whilst creating stunning interior spaces for our likeminded clients.

With the lowest Forest percentage of land in Europe it is crucial that we act now to reforest. The UK has one of the worst forest coverage in Europe with only11.76% of our land as forests. Only Ireland and the Netherlands are behind us.

Bringing the ‘outdoors in’ with hardwood flooring, has been a desirable concept for our living spaces for many years, perhaps even more so with the knowledge of natural materials incorporated with our day to day living, having been proven to bring down our mounting tension levels and reduce stress build up, thus giving our mental health a boost. It is of such high importance, that when taking care of our own mental and physical wellbeing in our home surroundings, that we are not compromising the source of where these materials actually come from! What a reassuring thought then, that The Solid Wood Flooring Company are proud to be joining GoneWest.com, ensuring we take the right steps to reduce the carbon footprint of the construction industry.

Since our humble beginnings we’ve always strived to be responsible in all our material sourcing; which means a green and healthy wood flooring product for you.

We work closely with the Forest Stewardship Commission (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™) to ensure our material comes from certified, sustainable and well managed forests.  We’ll never source material from the rainforest, nor purchase from questionable sources.

When a tree is felled to produce our flooring products, we ensure nothing goes to waste.  In addition, we’ll only harvest older trees that consume less carbon and produce less oxygen than younger trees; forestry experts will select the tree and ensure no habitats are damaged or destroyed.  To utilise every part of the tree and to make it ‘go as far as possible’; we primarily produce engineered floorboards.  This means we consume around one fifth of the amount of material compared to producing solid boards.  Engineered boards have additional benefits some of which are being more stable, suitable for use with under floor heating systems and they can be wider and longer than solid boards.

There are 600 species of Oak trees in the world with most in the Americas.

An Oak tree will produce about 10 million acorns during its lifetime with only 1 in 10,000 of these producing a tree. Our aim is to make sure we take more acorns and turn them into Oak trees. Currently there are 78 species of Oak trees that are considered to be in danger of extinction.

As we take materials from our natural surroundings, it is absolutely vital that we do not take them for granted! With this in mind, The Solid Wood Flooring Company did not need to think twice about a partnership with GoneWest.com, a for-purpose tree planting company, committed to planting a new trees for our long term future.

“Gone West takes it’s partnerships seriously, working with brands that share a true passion for the planet and its people. Our inspiration comes from brands like THE SOLID WOOD FLOORING COMPANY, who see their responsibility for the environment but also a possibility to make change in their community. We are proud to be their choice in battling the environmental and social crisis of our times.”

– Gone West

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO US?

Because we’re replanting the future. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. It’s about giving back to nature, working with the community and taking care of future generations.

“Giving back for us is not only planting trees, it is thinking about how we run our businesses, how we source our products and materials, how we can create jobs and take care of the vulnerable members of our society.” – Gone West

The story is just the beginning, never miss a step by following us on our new journey.

The information below is from Wikipedia which shows how bad the UK is in world as a percentage of land that has forests.

CHINA AN EXEMPLAR EXAMPLE OF REFORESTATION

In 2015, forest cover reached 22.2% of China’s vast territory, up from 16.74% of the country in 1990. This means that forests were rehabilitated over 5.5% of China’s enormous landmass – 511,807 square kilometres. In 2018, China set a target to achieve forest cover over 30% of its land by 2050.

The Directors and team at The Solid Wood Flooring company welcome any feedback on our mission to lobby the Government on passing a law that will make every developer plant at least one new tree for every bedroom they develop. This will stoop new greenfield sites being crammed with houses without any new planting.

At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we believe in innovation through collaboration. That’s why we work closely with Architects and Designers to create unique flooring for commercial projects such as restaurants.

Designing restaurants is all about creating an atmosphere. You want your customers to be immersed in the experience as soon as they step through your doors. Finding the right fit for your flooring is crucial – it captures the look and feel of any commercial project.

We’re proud to have played a part in bringing restaurants across the UK to life. If you need inspiration for your latest project, here are just four examples of the many times our wood flooring fitted restaurants perfectly.

  • Herringbone Parquet Flooring for Percy & Founders

At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we are always striving to develop our products. That’s why we work with architects and interior designers through every step of the process. And it’s why we offer a limitless range of colours and finishes. It’s also why we only use the latest state-of-the-art machines.

It’s no secret: solid wood flooring is in decline. Our belief in building a sustainable future for our planet, alongside changes in the market, means we must find new solutions.

For that reason, we believe engineered wood flooring is the future of the industry. As an environmentally-friendly, sustainable alternative, it’s perfect for all commercial and residential projects.

But don’t just listen to us, let the engineered wood flooring do the talking. Here’s some of the benefits it offers:

An environmentally friendly alternative

It’s an age-old concept: less is more. And the process of manufacturing engineered wood flooring fits the bill.

For starters, it uses far less of the tree per plank than a solid hardwood floor does. It even uses 75% less of slow-grow hardwoods like Oak by using faster-growing hardwoods like birch and poplar.

Engineered wood flooring creates little to no pollutants during its production. The veneer is sliced rather than cut, producing less sawdust and creating little to no pollutants.

If that wasn’t enough, due to it being durable and made to withstand moisture, engineered wood flooring reduces the need for regular replacement. And if it does need to be replaced, it’s easier to remove the damaged planks, reducing your wood usage.

By choosing engineered wood flooring for your project, you’re playing a part in reducing deforestation.

Create cosy spaces and warm atmospheres

Whether it’s for warming up your home in the winter months or creating a sense of cosiness in commercial spaces, engineered wood flooring offers plenty of opportunities.

Thanks to the way engineered wood flooring is made, we can offer a limitless range of colours and finishes. Whether you use a brushed finish for an authentic feel or an oiled on for extra durability, the possibilities for designers are endless.

In addition, you can easily create cosy spaces and warm atmospheres by using it with underfloor heating. Engineered wood flooring doesn’t expand and contract like solid wood, so it makes it the perfect fit for underfloor heating.

Top marks for durability

Whenever you’re planning for a project, it’s important to consider how durable everything is. Especially the flooring. If you’re catering for high-traffic areas, such as hotels and restaurants, or kitchens and living rooms, you’ll want the flooring to be able to withstand it.

The good news is that engineered wood flooring takes top marks. Its veneer means it can be sanded down and refinished several times, so it can last for many decades. It also means if a projects design changes, the flooring can do without trouble.

Better yet, it’s suitable for moisture prone areas like basements and bathrooms. Its installation means it can tolerate more moisture than solid wood without showing damage or warping.

As our forests decrease, our reliance on precious resources increases. Our mission has always been to offer sustainable options for reducing your environmental impact.

That’s why we work tirelessly to create products that offer stunning interiors without compromising our planet’s future.

By buying from The Solid Wood Flooring Company, you’re not only getting the perfect fit for your project, but you’re also getting the benefit of knowing you’ve committed to sustainability.

Here are a handful of the things we do as part of our commitment to offering sustainable flooring.

1. Our collaboration with Gone West

The UK’s forests currently has the lowest percentage of land in Europe, with only 11.76% of our land being used as forests. It’s crucial to our country’s environmental future that we act now.

That’s why we’re proud to be a part of the Gone West global mission. Our plan is to use approximately 1,000 oak trees a year, and as part of our partnership we’ve committed to planting 4,000 oak trees every year. So for every tree we cut down, we’ll plant three new ones.

2. We work closely with the FSC®️ and PEFC™️

Since we started, we’ve always strived to be responsible when sourcing materials. For one, it means we can provide you with green and healthy wood flooring products.

To ensure our materials come from certified, sustainable, and well-managed forests, we work closely with the Forest Stewardship Commission (FSC®️) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™️). Through this, we’ll never source materials from the rainforest, nor purchase from questionable sources – there’s simply no need.

You can learn more about our commitment to sustainability, and what you can do to support that, here.

At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, our principles have always been the same since we started: high-quality products, good service and competitive pricing. We must continue to innovate our offering for the interior design community, as it’s always been in our roots.

During our Founder Martyn Ryder’s time in development, refurbishing Grade I and II listed properties, it became clear there was no wood flooring competitively priced that met the needs of the conversion. Inspired by a lack of homegrown products and the quality of cheap imports, we spent several years researching and developing the top-quality engineered flooring we offer today.

Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to offer a limitless range of colours and finishes to perfectly fit any project. We take the lead in using new techniques and technology to develop high-quality British products that interior designs can pick up and play with.

Here are five reasons why our flooring is perfect for commercial interior design projects:

1. By designers, for designers

Since day one, we’ve worked closely with architects, contractors, fitters and interior designers. By doing this, we design and manufacture our wood floors to exact specifications using only the latest, state-of-the-art adhesives, finishes and technology. Many of our products have evolved from designers asking us to develop specific flooring to bring their artistic vision to life.

Having interior designers on board means we’ve been able to design 150 different styles of timber flooring made with interior design in mind. Adhesives, finishing oils, maintenance products and underlay are all add-ons we currently offer to help interior designers plan for projects.

2. Sustainable interior design

Sustainability is in our DNA. It’s why we’re committed to helping deliver long-lasting high-quality design with low environmental impact.

Working closely with interior designers, we use and repurpose all of the timber wood we buy.

All in all, we’re creating sustainable materials for sustainable interior design.

3. Made to be multi-purpose

Commercial projects come with unique spaces to design. By investing in innovation, we afford interior designers new levels of imagination.

All of our engineered boards can be used for cladding walls or bar fronts to create atmosphere and transform spaces. By offering multi-purpose boards, interior designers can create cohesion and consistency by matching up the flooring with the walls and bar fronts.

Over the years we’ve worked with high-profile restaurants like Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Company and Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse to hotels such as Spitbank Fort. All of these clients have used our products for multi-purposes to bring their projects to life.

4. Create cosy spaces with underfloor heating

Approaching interior design projects can be like piecing together puzzles. It’s about problem-solving. That’s why we value adding depth to our dynamic products. It’s why we recommend and supply underfloor heating. It allows interior designers to create warm and cosy spaces in large commercial properties.

Wood flooring is perfectly matched for underfloor heating as it’s natural and warm to touch. As a renewable source, it’s environmentally friendly. Not only does this help improve commercial projects efficiency, but it also helps reduce global warming adding to sustainable interior design.

5. High quality

Interior designers are often catering for commercial projects with high-traffic areas. So we make it easy for them from the start. Our range of wood flooring is more durable and lasts longer than before due to advancements in protective finishes. Our wood can be deep cleaned and sanded for new finishes, so our wood flooring significantly outlives other types.

Innovation is at the heart of our manufacturing process. It’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to using 5-layer technology to create high-quality commercial flooring. 100% waterproof, our non-slip surfaces require no underlay and come with simple installs to easily slide into designs fit for any commercial space.
