The report offers an insight into how each of the 122 companies reviewed scored with regards to setting and performing against commitments around responsible timber and wood product sourcing. WWF believes that transparent supply chains are an integral feature of a responsible company, and we have therefore awarded points to companies for not just procuring a high proportion of products from sustainable sources, but also for making information regarding their sourcing practices publicly available.
Each year the report serves to highlight the companies that are engaging with the fight against deforestation but also reveals key learnings that can benefit the cause in the long run. It shows how the public sector is doing as a whole and encourages those who need to make improvements to do so.
That is why we are so pleased to be able to announce that we have been awarded 3 trees by WWF.
In the last of a three-part series, we have once again achieved a rating of 3 trees which according to the WWF means that we are ‘performing well against procurement policies’.
When they completed this report in both 2015 and 2017 we also consistently achieved 3 trees. The environment and responsible sourcing of our timber product has always been high on our agenda, and it is great to see that reflected in our score in the report.
We are leading in our industry in this report, as we were the only timber flooring supply company to achieve a score of 3 trees across all three reports. So, you know that with us you can rest assured that you are supporting a business that has the environment at its heart.
