At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we take pride in supplying premium, sustainably sourced wood flooring that enhances spaces both aesthetically and practically. Our recent collaboration on the Muswell Hill Broadway regeneration project is a prime example of how high-quality wood flooring can elevate a development.
Once a tired 1970s Woolworths store, the building has been transformed into a modern mixed-use development, featuring an Aldi supermarket on the ground floor and seven boutique apartments above. Led by Crawford Partnership, with Imrose Properties, ChampionBuild, KM Dimensions, and ENR Structural Engineers, this project is not just about revitalisation: it’s about sustainability, durability, and timeless design.
In keeping with the project’s eco-conscious approach, our engineered wood flooring was selected to create stylish, high-performance interiors while contributing to the development’s sustainability goals.
Each apartment now features beautiful, natural wood flooring, bringing warmth, texture, and durability to every space.
The Impervia Plank Format in French Grey and Bare Timber was chosen for its exceptional quality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
These finishes provide a sophisticated yet natural look, perfectly complementing the contemporary design of the apartments.
Here’s why our flooring was the ideal solution:
Our wood flooring not only adds a premium touch to these apartments but also aligns with the project’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Sustainability was a key focus for the Muswell Hill Broadway regeneration, with an emphasis on reusing and improving rather than demolishing and rebuilding. By keeping the existing structure, the project cut down on waste and preserved the carbon already stored in the building, making it a far more environmentally friendly approach.
To make the apartments as energy-efficient as possible, high-performance insulation and energy-efficient windows were installed, helping to keep homes warm while reducing energy use. Air-source heat pumps provide a greener way to heat and cool the spaces, keeping running costs low and the carbon footprint even lower.
Inside each apartment, our engineered wood flooring was chosen not just for its timeless beauty, but because it’s sustainably sourced, durable, and long-lasting. It brings warmth and character to the interiors while also supporting the project’s eco-friendly vision.
The result? Stylish, comfortable homes that are built to last, both in design and in sustainability.
Refurbishing an older commercial building and transforming it into a modern, high-end development came with several challenges. However, careful planning and expert collaboration ensured that the project stayed on track.
Despite these obstacles, the development was completed to an exceptional standard. Our engineered wood flooring played a key role in delivering a stylish and sustainable finish, enhancing the interiors with warmth, elegance, and long-lasting quality.
