Overlay Parquet

The pictures show the preparation of the subfloor clearly indicates how plywood fitted over existing floorboards has been screwed down securely to enable the overlay blocks to be glued directly to it. This house was completed by one of our recommended fitters and the client wanted the door entrances to look different so they created a brick pattern.

Because the blocks are small and of high quality (please don’t buy cheaper versions that may not have been machined as accurately) and only 10mm thick and glued to a substantial plywood floor there is no need for thresholds between doorways etc. The stairway and border detail makes the perfect finish. The floor was then finished with Blanchon Solid’Oils.
