We worked closely with the client, Architect and main contractors to provide a unique engineered wood floor solution. The boards are unique and unusual, being cross band sawn to create a textured finish that looks natural like the old boards in loft conversions. This matched the ethos the client was trying to achieve in both look and finish. The product code is TW E781 and can be seen on at the bottom of the case study.
Manhattan Loft Gardens development in Stratford International
The extracts below have been taken from the web site:
The property developers who brought loft-living to London. Challenging conventions and harnessing the best in forward-thinking new design.
As Harry Handelsman states, “When I launched Manhattan Loft Corporation I endeavoured to set it apart from all other property development companies, an ambition which I believe we achieved not only through pioneering the lifestyle concept which we now know as loft-living but also through my vision for each unique individual development.”
Pushing the boundaries both creatively and commercially is something MLC has continued to do over the past 20 years. The result has been the most extraordinary journey through some of London’s forgotten areas, and some of its most established. We have worked with some truly fantastic pieces of architecture, which we hope will continue to influence our capital’s landscape for decades to come.
You can see the building in November and the full fit out starts in March. The board has a special surface finish so it does not change the colour and details of the interiors, which can be seen here:
