Percy & Founders Restaurant

The Solid Wood Flooring Company were chosen to supply our 212T Lightly Fumed Parquet Herringbone Engineered Floor for the Percy & Founders restaurant in Fitzroy Place, which opened in April 2015. This Parquet Floor is also used in the South Bank Tower.

Located in the heart of central London, within the City of Westminster and surrounded by the adjoining neighbourhoods of Mayfair, Soho, Marylebone and Regent’s Park, Fitzrovia presents London life, both work and play, at its very best. 

Fitzrovia is founded on its rich cultural history and its list of former residents reads like a roll-call of London’s creativity: Charles Dickens, Virginia Woolf, John Constable. Today the spirit is embodied by a thriving creative community including writers, artists, designers and filmmakers.

Fitzroy Place is also home to a restaurant, Percy & Founders. The restaurant, which is now open, is the first creation of Open House, the new sister company to Cubitt House, renowned for its award-winning venues in Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Pimlico and Marylebone

The name, Percy & Founders, is inspired by the Duke of Northumberland, Hugh Percy and the group of philanthropists who founded the Middlesex Hospital in 1755.

Percy & Founders needed a floor of superior quality to compliment the luxurious décor of this superb development.

The fitting is exceptional as can be seen when you enter the restaurant as it adds to the total ambience of the interior, creating a warm at home feel, with great service and delicious food.

Percy & Founders needed a strong, durable floor capable of withstanding traffic all day as the venue remains open from breakfast right through to lunch, dinner and evening cocktails.

The menu features simple British and modern European food prepared by Executive Chef Diego Cardoso, who brings with him a wealth of experience from some of the most creative and exciting kitchens.

The parquet blocks are 120mm wide x 600mm long and have been laid in both a traditional herringbone pattern and a “ladder” pattern to create the feeling of different areas.
