Trend Projects approached The Solid Wood Flooring Company to supply engineered oak flooring for a workplace canteen. The brief was straightforward: specify a floor that suited the clean, contemporary design of the space while keeping the overall feel bright, natural and welcoming.
After reviewing a number of options, our Select Grade Engineered White Oiled Oak (E158) was selected. By using cleaner boards with only minimal knots, the finished floor achieves a crisp, consistent appearance that complements modern commercial interiors without feeling sterile.
The white oiled finish softens the natural tone of the oak while allowing the grain to remain visible, bringing warmth and texture into the space. As with all of our engineered wood flooring, the timber was responsibly sourced, meeting the project’s sustainability requirements alongside its design objectives.
Workplace canteens see constant daily use, so durability was just as important as appearance. The engineered construction provides excellent stability, while the white oiled finish can be maintained over time to keep the floor looking its best.
Years after installation, the E158 flooring remains in service, demonstrating how a carefully specified engineered oak floor continues to perform in a demanding commercial environment.
