The Brief

Rather than following the traditional chalet aesthetic of dark timber interiors, the design team opted for a lighter, more contemporary palette that would maximise natural light and create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

The flooring was key to achieving that vision. It needed to work effortlessly alongside natural stone, exposed timber beams and bespoke joinery, bringing warmth and texture to the space without dominating it. At the same time, the specification had to deliver the stability and long-term performance expected in a luxury alpine home.

White Oiled Oak proved to be the ideal choice, preserving the natural beauty of the timber while creating a fresh, understated finish that feels perfectly at home in a modern alpine setting. The result is an interior that feels bright, relaxed and effortlessly connected to its surroundings.
