What is the best flooring for bathrooms?

What is the best flooring for bathrooms?

There is a whole host of options to choose from when picking the best floor for a bathroom which range from wood flooring, to carpet to tiles. However, at The Solid Wood Flooring Company we believe it’s an easy choice and that is Impervia luxury rigid plank waterproof flooring. Below we explore the reasons why the Impervia range is the perfect flooring for a bathroom or wet room.

What is Impervia flooring?

Impervia luxury flooring is like real wood flooring with a wide longboard, textured surface and natural look. Unlike many other floorings on the market, Impervia flooring does not need any adhesive or underlay thanks to its innovative 1.5mm thick IXPE waterproof backing.

100% waterproof & non-slip

Firstly, and arguably the most important reason, is that Impervia flooring is 100% waterproof which makes it the ideal flooring solution for bathrooms. On top of this, our waterproof flooring “has demonstrated a low slip potential under wet test conditions” which means it’s a completely safe flooring to have in your bathroom.

Durability

With our forests ever decreasing and precious resources being used for an increasing market in wood flooring, Impervia® Flooring is the sustainable option to reduce your impact on the environment, whilst creating a product that is durable enough for even the highest traffic areas.

Whilst we don’t recommend fitting Impervia® Flooring outside that’s exactly what we did

After a year of some of the most varied weather we’ve experience in the UK with soaring temperatures and even several weeks of snow, we finally pulled our test boards inside dusted them off and took a look. The new board and the test board were almost indistinguishable. thanks to their UV layer and the true waterproof qualities of Impervia®, the boards remained unchanged in both colour and state. The tested boards had retained not just their structure – allowing them to fit seamlessly together – but also their appearance with no fading to the colour or pattern.

Wide range of choices

Impervia flooring ranges from natural oak, fumed oak, Scandinavian oak, marble and stone. This diverse range provides you with a wide variety of choice to find the perfect wet room flooring for your bathroom. If you still can’t find your perfect flooring, then thankfully we can work together to create a custom-made flooring that is right for you. Due to the intelligent décor layer right in the middle of the flooring we can create a film to your exact requirements.

It’s certified

We have done our utmost to ensure that Impervia Flooring is using the latest technology but also exceeds a range of standards for suitability. We firmly believe that composite flooring is the best choice for your project. In fact, we’re certified by the Green Guard and FloorScore® by SCS. You can find out more about that here.
